The Australian Open faced crowd restrictions and a large dip in international visitors, (as well as one famous player who was unable to attend). So to open the game up, the Open created a metaverse replica of the grounds, as well as collectible NFT balls that were live linked to sections of the court. So when a player won a point, so did the owner of the NFT. The campaign raised nearly $1 million dollars for the Australian Open, a non for profit organisation.
